"Qana was frankly inevitable in a situation in which you have rocket-launchers within 100 yards of a civilian population. This is the nature of the war that's going on ...This is the kind of dirty war you're in when you have to do this and I'm not losing sleep about that." - Michael Ignatieff
Gerrard Kennedy, Martha Hall Findlay, and Ken Dryden "get it" when it comes to social justice in the MidEast conflict. They've got my support this Super Weekend.
Scott Brison, Joe Volpe are clearly complicit with Israel's disproportionate response. Shame.
Read some quotes from the crew here.
Humbleslave,
ReplyDeleteI would disagree and would say that Ignatieff does “gets it” when it comes to the Middle East.
The “not losing sleep” reference was only to say Qana wouldn’t shape his policy on the Middle East.
Poor use of a phase – Yes.
An indication of his feelings for the people who suffered because of this tragedy - No.
Reacting to a tragedy is not showing true leadership.
I’ll remember that when I am casting my ballot for Ignatieff and his delegates.

ReplyDeleteWhat can you say about a political party that won't even scrape the Volpe off its shoes?
ReplyDeleteHi Neo Conservative,
ReplyDeletethat's a tough one. I would've like to have seen Volpe hauled off long ago. The Apotex scandal was more than reason enough for him to have been carted out.
thx for your comment.
I'm just happy the Lib establishment goes with the Volpes' and the Chretiens' of the world instead of someone like Akaash Maharaj or Martha Hall Findlay. Crooks over conscience means a Harper majority next go around.
ReplyDeleteHi Neo Conservative,
ReplyDeleteI believe this is where I would have to respectfully disagree with you. Only if we select well-intentioned, honest, ethical, leaders in *all* parties will we lift the political discourse in this country for all Canadians. It doesn't help to have any of our Parties operating below the watermark that Canadians so rightfully deserve.
